Families In Schools-Parent Information & Resource Center (FIS-PIRC), is committed to supporting the Los Angeles community in its effort to grow and nurture partnerships between schools, families and local communities. To meet the stated goals, FIS-PIRC primarily works through school staff, within the context of one or more of the many pre-existing FIS programs. The programs are designed to affect systemic change in school communities by bringing teachers, students and parents together, focused on academic success. The FIS-PIRC is in place to promote the use of pre-existing FIS programs, enhance and more thoroughly evaluate those programs, and provide stronger on-site and Web-based technical support to school staff implementing these programs.
